Benefitfocus Partners with Health Risk Assessment Firm
Mount Pleasant, S.C. and Daleville, Ind. – Aug. 17, 2006 – Benefitfocus, the leading provider of consumer directed healthcare software, announced today that it will offer TRALE’s Health Risk Assessment (HRA) products to support its consumer health management programs. Consumers will be able to access personal health assessments, customized wellness plans and long-term health forecasting. The TRALE HRA, customized for Benefitfocus, is available online and includes a Web-based interactive health library. This integrated health risk assessment tool will be offered as an embedded option in the single sign-on platform, or as a standalone option provided by large insurance plans and national employers.
“This is an exciting time to be working in the healthcare industry,” said Shawn Jenkins, President and Chief Executive Officer for Benefitfocus. “Consumers will be able to better assess and manage their health and healthcare costs on an ongoing basis with the addition of customizeable HRA’s on the Benefitfocus platform. We are offering a fully integrated consumer directed health platform, with benefit tools, financial management, and now, health management as well.”
The new health management products, including health behavior changes and advice, integrate with Benefitfocus’ enrollment and financial services platform. While Benefitfocus will continue to work with clients who have selected other HRA products, the software company can now provide turnkey health and wellness programs.
“We are a national leader in customized health management solutions for employers,” said James Amos, Founder and President of TRALE. “Our software dramatically improves lives and reduces costs through sustained health behavior and lifestyle changes.”
In the past two months, Benefitfocus has formed business partnerships with several companies to create a single sign-on consumer directed health portal that allows people to enroll in benefits, customize plan options, create a health savings account, and plan and manage their healthcare finances. This latest collaboration will incorporate risk assessment, personalized health coaching and overall program management. In addition, the offering allows employers the ability to optimize health benefit offerings, increase profitability and improve productivity for their workforce.
