Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Selects Benefitfocus®

Charleston, S.C. – Dec. 4, 2006 – Benefitfocus, a leader in health care technology, has signed a contract with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida (BCBSF) to support its group business with eEnrollment capabilities. To enhance BCBSF’s advantage in the burgeoning small group market, Benefitfocus will begin providing automated enrollment and plan configuration tools to its small and large group members in 2007. The initial deployment of the enrollment automation software will be for small groups of two to 50 employees.

“BCBSF has designed and brought to market numerous small business products, and now has increased Web options and consumer flexibility through its contract with Benefitfocus,” said Mike Guyette, BCBSF’s Senior Vice President for Sales and Account Management.

There are many benefits of using Benefitfocus eEnrollment capabilities, including agent and member satisfaction. With service being a critical component to remaining competitive in the healthcare marketplace, a smooth enrollment process is the first step to ensuring agents and new members are satisfied with their enrollment experience.

“Our eEnrollment suite allows our clients’ members to select a tailored set of healthcare services and provides tools to assist them in becoming better healthcare consumers. Members can take advantage of new consumer-directed health plans using our custom plan configurators and multi-lingual Web-based tools,” said Shawn Jenkins, president and CEO of Benefitfocus.
