Largest health insurer in Arkansas renews streamlined technology services contract for four years

Charleston, S.C. – Aug. 22, 2007 – Enrollment, billing and data exchange continues to get easier for Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield employer groups and brokers. Arkansas' largest health insurer, serving more than one third of the state’s fully insured market, continues to streamline and automate administrative processes by using several Benefitfocus technology products and services.

A successful four-year relationship between the two companies recently was contracted for another four years. "Most of our paper enrollment and billing processes were successfully migrated online by Benefitfocus several years ago," shared Bob Heard, Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield vice president of Information Technology Infrastructure. "Through these automation tools, we have experienced a significant return on investment which has increased administrative efficiencies, customer satisfaction and renewals, and strengthened relationships with our brokers."

Arkansas Blue Cross continues to provide their employer groups and brokers access to technology solutions that put their customers in touch with their healthcare through contract renewal. During the next four years, even more consumer directed automation options will be made available as this partnership continues.
